Built Wyld was born from my lifelong passion for pushing limits — of vehicles, of adventures, and of the everyday. I’ve been around cars for as long as I can remember, and those years didn’t just shape my skills — they shaped my mindset. For me, it’s always been about performance, creativity, and taking pride in everything I do.
My story
Hi — I’m Josh Boettcher, founder of Built Wyld.
Cars have been in my blood since day one. I was born into a family that’s been part of the automotive industry since 1969. Growing up around engines, I spent my childhood racing go-karts and later jumped straight into selling cars out of school.
That journey eventually led me into the world of professional drifting. I competed across Asia and took out the Australian Drift Championship — in a car I built alongside my mates and family.
It wasn’t just about winning; it was about pushing limits, solving problems, and building something from the ground up.
That same energy lives on in Built Wyld. What we do here isn’t just about fitting parts — it’s about creating rigs that perform and tell a story. A story of off-grid weekends, muddy trails, roaring campfires, and chasing the thrill of the unknown.
These days at Built Wyld, I lead the team with over 20 years of experience in racing, selling new 4WDs, and modifying all kinds of vehicles.
We bring an eye for detail and a passion for quality that’s hard to find — and our mission is simple: to make sure every build not only performs, but inspires.
